Opening and Closing Ceremonies – Yaoundé, Cameroon

The 6th edition of the Total African Nations Championship (also referred to as CHAN 2020), a biennial football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) exclusively featuring players from the respective national championships, was held in Cameroon from 16th January to 7th February 2021.


We have been chosen by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education / COCAN to create, design and produce the opening and closing ceremonies that took place at Amadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé. The tournament was scheduled to play from 4th to 25th April 2020, but was postponed to a later date in January 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


It was the first main international ceremony on the planet to welcome public as well as hundreds of performers during the pandemic.

The colorful opening ceremony included around 500 Cameroonians artists, dancers, performers who delivered an impressive 30-minutes show tinged with local tradition and African culture.


The pitch was decked out in a massive colorful African cloth with dancers thumping the floor in various dress cultures of the country amid huge firework display.


Cameroonian singers Stanley Enow and Jane Mary Ihims performed during the ceremony which was attended by dignitaries such as Cameroon Prime Minister Joseph Ngute and FIFA President Gianni lnfantino.


The dynamic closing ceremony was a combination of music and passion. It featured popular artists such as Nabila and Maahlox including some amazing dance performances.


The Cameroonian football legend Rigobert Song installed the trophy on the field before that an impressive fireworks grand final ended the show.
