The tournament, which was founded in 1994 includes all the clubs from France's two top divisions, augmented by a handful of clubs from the third tier.
 
The match was scheduled to play on April 4th, but was postponed in August due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When it happened, this match was the second live main sporting event to take place in a complex health period.
